President Obama's Second Inauguration is one that most of us will not ever forget. His speech didn't end all the discrimination and hatred by any means. But it did put the nation and the world on notice that our rights are indeed civil rights that can no longer be ignored. President Obama used both the prestige of his office and the prestige of the inaugural event to elevate our struggle for equality onto the national agenda.
I actively supported President Barack Obama in both 2008 and 2012. This past election, I voted early so that I could spend all day on Election Day nude, but I also proudly displayed my confidence in his ability to effectively guide our country.
