"A Naked Childhood" ABC-TV Tonight: May 4, 2012

Tonight, Friday, May 4, 2012, the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) network will air a segment entitled "Growing Up Nudist: A Naked Childhood" on its show: 20/20 Xtreme Parents. The feature is scheduled for broadcast on the system at 10:00 p.m., ET.

The mini-documentary tells the story of nine-year-old Alex Reamer (pictured right) and his life as a resident of a nudist community. This isn't the tale of a kid living in a family that visits clothing-optional resorts and takes scheduled nakations. Alex and his family are full-time members of Sunsport Gardens, a naturist/nudist neighborhood located near Palm Beach, Florida. The Reamer family moved into the 40-acre, clothes free environment six years ago. Here, nudity is not only embraced; it is expected of all living there.

"I don't wear clothes much!" Alex explains, without shame, to ABC News' correspondent John Berman. "I just like to be nude." He then adds that sometimes he goes months at a time without putting on any clothing. He engages in activities that appeal to most boys his age: video games, playground, sports and riding his bike, all without the baggage of garments.

The Reamer family consented to participating in the 20/20 Xtreme Parents interview on the condition that the network not blur the images. "It sends the wrong message," Sandra Reamer, Alex's mother stated. "It says that nudity is bad."

Peace! Get naked. Enjoy!
